Some of the boring presentation ever, I have read Still, there is an answer key for the review questions and some of the exercises. I read this book as my introduction to modern programming languages, as a part of my school studies. Data Structures and Algorithms in Java 2nd Edition. It requires no programming knowledge before-hand making it an excellent textbook for somebody wishing to learn programming from the start.

The pacing is nice if you're willing to read the material, review, and actually do editioh exercises at the end of the chapters. I have read quite a few books on programming and related stuff ever since, through my engineering college and later, but I can't remember any that could match this book in simplicity, organisation or effectiveness, and even in fun. Computer code, of all things, has to be very precise, and the unfortunate formatting harms the readability and prevents the reader from being able to lafoee a feel for what good code should look like.

I've read good CS textbooks and bad. Still, the book has been helpful in spite of the examples, and I would recommend it.
